When things go wrong

Here are a few photos of the BHD engine after it failed at Harewood in 2013.
We think the big end bearing failed, causing the connecting rod to wobble and snap after hitting side of crankcase, then the piston fired, driving it into the crancase, the spinning crank did the rest.
I felt it happen, knocked it out of gear straight away but nothing I could do to stop the micro second of carnage.
It took Luke Roberts and Rod Spollen several days, lots of fish and chips and beer to take it apart as it was siezed solid.
