You will be pleased to know that the axle has been replaced and PE4731 is now mobile and hopefully will get us back to Scrooby🤞.
All I had to do on Saturday morning was put the chains back on and drive to scrootineering. Sadly the thread on the adjusting eyebolt was damaged on reassembly which necessitated some packing washers. Driving to the Bricomart and sawing and filing to fit took all morning and consequently I missed scrootineering and consequently missed competing. It’s amazing how difficult it is to hacksaw a 20mm washer without a vice. The problem was eventually solved by Molegripping the washer to the iron railings of the house across the road. What the passers-by must have thought I chuckle to think.
My special thanks go to Trevor Tarring for bringing out the 1 1/2” axle, translating in the Bricomart and helping get the washers to fit.
Tim Pryke was also a tower of strength even though he was caught on camera lying down on the job. Bill Croxon is also deserving of a special mention as being also a major player in the rebuild. The rest of the chain gang also provided crowd funding advice, sundry tools and encouragement. Thank to David Knight for suggesting the idea.

What a great club we belong to.
